A door’s security rating is determined by the level of protection it provides against intruders. This varies depending on the type of tools used to try to penetrate the door and the time taken to withstand attack. For example, a BRE approved LPS 1175 SR3 rated door must be able to endure an attack lasting 5 minutes from an intruder with larger hand tools, including crowbars, cordless drills and gas torches.
