14 of our employees teamed up to Brave The Shave in October, in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support. Aimee Burman, HR & Payroll Coordinator, spearheaded this after we sadly lost one of our beloved employees, Julie Redhead, to cancer earlier this year. We hosted a company fundraising event where the shaves took place, last Friday.
We sold over 100 tickets to the event which was open to employees and their friends and families. At the event, we ran a charity raffle, to which several local companies donated prizes, including Scunthorpe United Football Club, Buzz Bingo, 1660 Menswear, Taylor’s Family Butchers, Osh Gosh Gowns, Beauty By Kim, Lash Lady Scunthorpe, and many more.
Macmillan Cancer Support heard about our event via social media, and expressed interest in coming to our event, so we welcomed two local representatives which attended. We are proud to have raised £3359, including a very generous donation of £1000 from Tim Strawson, Managing Director, exceeding our target of £1300. We also raised a further £225 at our Macmillan Coffee Morning, in September.
