Christmas Jumper Day is widely known for raising money for ‘Save The Children’, a charity that helps keep children in the UK and around the world safe. This year, though, the group has decided to give back to a cause a bit closer to home – The Forge Project.
The Forge Project offers crucial support to the homeless and vulnerable in Scunthorpe and surrounding areas. With the cost of living crisis forcing more people into poverty-like situations and winter weather conditions worsening, lifelines like this one are needed now more than ever.
Bradbury Group’s HR Director, Zane Dexter said: “The incredible support that The Forge Project offers to local people will be in high demand this year, with temperatures plummeting and people struggling to heat their homes. We’re proud to be raising money for the cause that will make a difference to so many lives this winter.”
All money raised through Christmas Jumper Day and other upcoming Christmas activity held at Bradbury HQ, including the annual staff Christmas lunch which will be served to employees by the company directors, will be donated to The Forge Project.
In addition, a clothing donation station has been set up in the group’s communal canteen to collect items of warm clothing, such as coats and jackets, to give to the cause alongside the money raised.
You can make a donation directly to The Forge Project on their website: http://www.theforgeproject.co.uk/
Thank you to all of the Bradbury employees that have participated in the festive fundraising.
