Bradbury Secures North Lindsey College

Three of our Apprentices were set the task to engineer, design and oversee the installation of 11 Bradbury M2M3 high security doors for the new building at North Lindsey College, which will coincidentally house the students’ brand new Engineering department! The College and the SFA have invested £12.2 million in a complete rebuild of the department with state of the art facilities, ensuring that students have the resources and technology to equip them with the skills needed to go onto gainful employment. This is an exciting time for growth and development in the Humber region for the Engineering and Renewables sector, and the new facilities will help the college prepare students for work across the North and South Bank in the future.

We’ve been working closely with Interserve (the building contractors on this project) to ensure that the apprentices learn how their role as design engineers will affect the whole process from conception to completion. Interserve specified our M2M3’s for the build as they are certified to LPS 1175 Level 3, and can withstand a great amount of attack from potential burglars.

The apprentices are currently studying for an NVQ Level 3 in Engineering at North Lindsey College one day a week, while experiencing a full-time hands on learning approach with us for the rest. Contributing to the development of innovative design solutions is crucial to their role, and they had to work closely with the Project Manager Marcus to engineer bespoke solutions to meet Interserve’s requirements. This has been a great learning experience for the three apprentices, as they’ve been able to oversee a door from design and engineering to production and installation. The last wave of doors were installed by our team in April and the building is due for completion soon.
