Every month we like to shine a spotlight on a different Bradbury Group team member. This month, we’re chatting with Tom Lawson, Purchasing Assistant.
“My day-to-day consists of regularly buying hardware/consumables/paint/glass etc, also non-stock products for specific job numbers. Checking purchase orders to see if they have arrived and or are correct, always challenging prices, completing workflows, and asking for quotes when needed.”
“I update everyone via the tracker with lead times – also internal queries from other departments such as Sales/Engineering with regards to certain item codes, prices, and if stock is available. I also liaise with suppliers and attend regular meetings and respond to any other possible queries in the department.”
“I have been with Bradbury Group now for 6 and a half years, nearly coming up to my 7th year here starting in June 2016 at Dunlop Way. I have enjoyed my time here so far and it doesn’t seem long ago since I just started, I’m excited to see what the future of Bradbury holds.”
“I needed to find work after finishing College, I always struggled to realise what I would want to do. I found out Bradbury Group was hiring so I went for it. Obviously, this was a great decision and the right one.”
“If I could learn anything it would probably be a new language, it would always come in handy and would be very useful going abroad.”
“It’s not how good you are, it’s how good you want to be.”
‘I’m ambidextrous.’
