We are excited to announce that Bradbury Group will be...
National Apprenticeship Week commenced today and runs from 8th to 14th February 2021, this year they are incorporating the theme of ‘Build the Future’.
Here at Bradbury Group, we constantly strive to aid the future of the construction industry and the local community, starting with those who are our future.
We currently have two apprentices, William Raithby and Bailey Lister, who came from HETA and have successfully completed their Level 3 BTEC Extended Certificate in General Engineering.
Working closely with our Engineering team, in the same environment, provides professional and real-life experience to give them an insight into the daily tasks and challenges that arise.
There are many benefits of choosing an apprenticeship career such as:
You can future-proof your career with an apprenticeship, by gaining knowledgeable skills and experience, with real progression in a business.
We spoke to William Raithby to find out his apprenticeship experience.
How did you find out about our apprenticeship opportunity?
I did work experience here in February 2020 and HETA kept in contact with Bradbury Group to discuss the opportunity of an apprenticeship.
Why did you want to do an apprenticeship?
I wanted to do an apprenticeship as I feel a real-life working environment is far more beneficial for learning than being in a classroom, and it also gives you valuable experience.
Has your apprenticeship experience fulfilled your expectations?
Most definitely, we have been given more responsibility and work than I originally expected, which has helped me progress a lot.
Have you learnt any valuable skills during your apprenticeship so far?
I have learnt how multiple roles in a company interact and rely on each other, and how important the work one person does can be. I have also learnt a lot of new things programming wise, which is very interesting and different from anything I have done before.
Would you recommend an apprenticeship to other people?
I would certainly recommend doing an apprenticeship as it full of essential and practical learning. I feel as though my progression and understanding have improved drastically more than being in a classroom environment.
What job would you like to do in the future?
Given now I have a good understanding of the current role and industry, I think I would enjoy being an Engineer as it is very interesting, and I’d like to progress to learning other parts of the department such as machine programming.
