In June 2021, work finished on the regeneration of a social housing project in Glasgow, Scotland.
The project saw the replacement of 34 doors for Parkhead Housing Association, which were in poor condition due to the age and constant use of the existing door sets.
Due to the use and requirements of the building, the new doors had to meet security obligations and withstand constant footfall, whilst also being visibly appealing. Our Business Development and Installation teams worked closely with Parkhead Housing, meeting on site to discuss the project, agree specifications and take precise measurements.
The chosen door sets were BS4800 bitter chocolate brown type E single leaf doors with deadlights above (where applicable) and matching infill panels.
Whilst the initial design phases saw some teething problems, the drawings were amended to ensure it met the needs of the client.

The doors were installed over 17 days in two phases, with two door sets replaced each day. Alongside Newton Doors, Parkhead Housing Association’s door entry contractor, Sound Service were on hand to disconnect the doors, as well as upgrading some of the rear doors to a PAC fob system to replace the existing key entry.
