Recently we partnered with the Humber Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP) to promote the value of STEM based careers (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths) within the Humber region. The predicted growth in the area means exciting employment opportunities are available right on the doorstep, in a region that has a strategic focus on a number of key industries – including renewable energy, manufacturing, logistics and chemicals. The LEP’s focus and funding will help prevent future skills shortages and skills gaps by encouraging and providing for the next generation of employees. Their aim is to raise awareness of opportunities, create better contacts with more employers and support local businesses to create the right opportunities to help fill current and future jobs.
In 2014, Bradbury set up our own Engineering Academy in partnership with North Lindsey College. This was born out of a desire to train the next generation of Bradbury Engineers, with a programme that combines invaluable workplace experience with academic study to NVQ Level 3 and beyond. Our current students have been involved with contributing to the development of innovative design solutions with our pioneering Research & Development department, as well as experiencing a wide variety of roles within Bradbury, before choosing the path that’s right for them.
