The Challenge

As property prices at One Hyde Park ranged from £3.6million for a one-bedroom flat, to £136million for a penthouse, architects working on the project were required to strike a balance between the highest standards of aesthetics, fire safety and asset protection, for all those residing within the complex. Martin Roberts was approached by One Hyde Park’s Main Contractor, Laing O’Rourke, to provide the steel doorsets for access into the building’s service areas.

The Solution

Martin Roberts, synonymous with architectural door design and renowned for quality, supplied 450 fire and acoustically rated steel doorsets to the One Hyde Park project.

As part of the design criteria, it was necessary to provide high acoustic sound reduction values between the car parking area and the two cinemas, as well as protecting the building from the spread of fire.

With the project being the most expensive piece of real estate development in history, all aspects of the building needed to be effortlessly stylish, and of the highest quality –with no compromises made. The project was managed by our Martin Roberts’ project managers, and installed by a team of fitters, on time, and within budget.
