Bradbury Group Welcomes Three New Graduates

On the 1st of November, Bradbury Group welcomed our latest graduates as part of the Early Careers scheme.

Welcoming Business Graduates

Jack Eastburn and May Foxton have joined Bradbury Group as Business Graduates. Their roles began with an induction into the organisation, spending time with different departments and gaining product knowledge.

In the next 18months, they will be rotating around the different business departments and gaining practical experience to really get to know the company.

A Wealth Of Experience

Jack graduated with a degree in Business Management & Marketing from Hull University. Alongside his role, he is also at the end of completing his master’s degree in Advertising & Marketing and brings with him previous experience of working in the hospitality industry.

May has graduated with a degree in Business from Lincoln University. Whilst working towards her degree, May attended University College North Lincolnshire two nights a week alongside her full-time job as Data and Exams Officer at Outwood Academy. May also brings with her experience of working for Humberside Police within the Major Investigation Team.

Getting to know the departments

Jack will start his journey within Export sales, where he is undergoing marketing research for new international markets and prospects.

May is working within the HR department, spending time getting to know the role and how it impacts the whole organisation. Alongside, May will be supporting with the creation of a Learning and Development strategy and reviewing the training provision in all the businesses within the Bradbury group.

A focus on Engineering

James joins us with a degree in Automotive Engineering from Loughborough University and brings with him previous experience as a Powertrain                    Design Engineer at Triumph Motorcycles. James has joined the engineering department, focusing on system and product improvements, testing certifications and product design.

Graduates Q&A; One month on

It has been one month since we had the pleasure of welcoming the graduates to Bradbury Group.

We took this opportunity to ask them what they have enjoyed about their roles so far and what they found most challenging.

I’ve enjoyed learning about the whole business, particularly export,” says JackIt has been interesting learning about the process of turning a query from across the water into a product and delivering it across the globe. Hopefully, I can identify foreign markets and customers of my own and help the business to build an international reputation.”

The most challenging aspect was moving away from his family and friends, but he has already started building new relationships inside and outside of work, which makes it make it much easier.

Moving on to May; “From the first day I have been tasked with my own projects, which has been refreshing, as it is something I wanted to do for a while. I am really enjoying the challenge!”

The biggest challenge for May was moving into the Manufacturing Industry and career. However, May says she was pleasantly surprised, Everyone has been extremely welcoming and has taken their time to chat and introduce me to the business. I very much feel like a part of the team.”

Finally, James reveals how he  found his first few weeks with Bradbury “The things I’ve most enjoyed learning about are some of the complexities that underpin what previously seemed to me to be quite a simple type of product” he commented.

The thing I liked most was also the most challenging for me. Having to develop my product knowledge from scratch! It is something that I am still working towards too!”

James previously had little practical understanding of the design and manufacturing processes of the products that Bradbury Group manufactures, although he has taken the opportunity to explore the factory, watch the production process, ask questions, and personally have a go at all the various design and manufacturing processes that he needs to understand.

We are excited to have them on board with us at Bradbury Group and wish them remarkable success and growth within their roles.
