In 2016, we partnered with our group brand Martin Roberts; an award-winning supplier of premium architectural steel doors. Bringing this leading brand into the Bradbury family has allowed us to expand our product offering and serve the architectural sector including some of the UK’s most iconic infrastructure.

Martin Roberts’ signature product is the Capital45, steel security doors designed to be specified by architects for acoustic, fire, security and aesthetic requirements in high-profile buildings.

With plenty of customisation options available within our Capital45 range, here’s our guide to specifying steel doors for your next architectural project.

Type of Door

All Capital45 doorsets are custom-made to suit your needs, with the following sizing available:

  • Single inward and outward opening
  • Double inward and outward opening (available with unequal splits)
  • Fixed and removable over panels
  • Fixed and removable side panels

The type of door your project requires depends on where the door will be fitted – applications for our architectural steel doors include commercial skyscrapers, luxury accommodation, transport hubs, retail complexes, schools, recording studios and even pharmaceutical environments.

Third Party Accreditations

One of the most important and potentially life-saving things to consider when configuring an architectural doorset is whether the door needs thermal, acoustic, security or fire accreditation. Depending on specification our doors are certified by Exova, a leading testing board.

Additional Hardware Options

Together with Martin Roberts, we strive to ensure your door is bespoke-made to meet every need. As part of this commitment we provide a range of vision panels, louvres, side/top panels, locking options, panic escape bars, and stays and closers.

Colour & Finish

Just because a door is designed for security purposes, doesn’t mean it has to be garish or take away from the overall appearance of your building. Martin Roberts’ steel doors are provided primed or polyester powder coated in a huge variety of colours. For more of a custom-look, the Capital45 can also be supplied with wood-grain and textured effects.
