Qatar World Cup Stadiums

The 2022 FIFA World Cup will be the first tournament held in an Arab region, taking place across a 21 mile radius of Qatar. In total, there are eight stadiums with a total capacity of just under 400,000 people, which are linked by a metro system. Each stadium has a different striking design, with some being powered by solar farms and equipped with cooling systems or outdoor air conditioning.

The Challenge

Bradbury Group was approached by HBK Contracting Co. W.L.L.  to supply over 600 doors with high levels of security and additional fire integrity. The project required a quick turn around with a total requirement of 649 doors across the different stadiums; 422 SR2 Doors and 227 SR3 Doors, to be supplied directly to Qatar for installation. Due to the number of doors required, shipment was required via containers, which couldn’t be undertaken in-house due to restrictions on space.

The Solution

Production of the doors began almost immediately from order, with a total of 20 leaves produced each day and 80-100 doors each week. A quick turn around on paint was required, with both the pre-coat and top coat applied in the same day. A third-party was recruited to crate the doors ready for shipment. In total, the project took 6 months to complete, with the doors supplied in a range of colours.
