Bradbury Academy is a scheme that is dedicated to education, training, and the development of skills; these values are aimed at both our employees, and placements who we are lucky enough to welcome into our Group.
Last week Bradbury Group had the exciting opportunity to welcome Casper, a bright young student studying at the ENL UTC, to join the team for a week and gain some valuable experience along the way.
Bradbury Groups Learning and Development Facilitator, May Foxton, created a tailored plan to meet Casper’s needs and to ensure Casper gains as much experience and knowledge as possible.
“Casper Described himself as an IT enthusiast who one day might like to pursue a career within IT” May explained. “We tailored his week so that he could gain valuable experience to help him achieve his goal, but also to give him the opportunity to explore new options”.
Casper joined several teams throughout the week, including Sales, IT, Marketing, Engineering, Customer Service, Quality, and Install; Casper also spent time with the Owner, and Managing Director, Tim Strawson.
Each department prepared fun activities to help Casper understand the day-to-day responsibilities and roles they play within the organisation.
The activities varied between each department, allowing Casper to test new skills and gain new knowledge. Some of these activities included:
Engaging in these activities helped Casper to gain a full understanding of how Bradbury Group operates from different perspectives. Understanding how a business operates is an invaluable experience that will help Casper in his future career.
After meeting Casper, Bradbury Group was very impressed as May received amazing feedback from the teams, describing him as “polite”, “enthusiastic”, “confident”, and “a credit to ENL UCNL”. Not only was Casper easy to get along with, but it felt like he had been a part of the team in each department he was with.
Following his visit, Casper took the time to hand-write a message to Bradbury Group to thank us for his experience:
“Dear May,
I am writing to you to thank you for the amazing opportunity you have given me. I really enjoyed my time at Bradbury and I will Value it for the rest of my life.
Please can you send my greatest thanks to the team for teaching me many things and making my life at Bradbury very enjoyable.
I hope I have a place at Bradbury in the future, as I really liked the atmosphere and people that work there.
Greatest thanks and best regards,
Casper Rybicki”
Thank you to Casper for the kind comments and for being enthusiastic and attentive, and for asking brilliant questions throughout. We are glad you enjoyed this experience; it was a pleasure to have you on board and are always welcome back!
