Bradbury Group is delighted to have donated a gas store to St Michael’s for the DIY SOS: The Big Build project in September.
The BBC Children in Need special saw the re-development of a camping and residential area for St Michael’s, a charity set up to help children and young people from areas of high social or economic disadvantage.
Bradbury Group designed, manufactured and installed a bespoke gas store for the project, which was designed initially to house a number of gas bottles. The design was later adapted by the Bradbury installation team in-situ, due to changes in the requirement on site.
Following over a year of Covid restrictions, the children of Hull were in desperate need of outdoor space. In just two days, the St Michael’s Youth Project saw an empty field transformed into a purpose built adventure camping site, including outdoor kitchen, pizza oven, nature class room, camping facilities, toilet and shower block, as well as a number of other activities areas.
Established over 27 years ago, the St Michael’s Youth Project works with young people between the ages of 5 and 24 in and around the areas of Orchard Park in North Hull. The charity specalises in the outdoors, providing children from disadvantaged backgrounds with excursions, mini holidays and other outdoor activities.
We are proud to have been able to support this project. The programme will air on Tuesday 16th November on BBC One at 9pm.
Bradbury Group is raising money for BBC Children in Need. During the month of November, we will be donating £1 for each door manufactured at our facility. Moreover, later this week the team at Scunthorpe will participate in a Charity Cyclathon, with donations encouraged from colleagues, contacts, friends and family. Find out more here.
